Joe Bill Collins

Mr. Joe Bill Collins, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away at his home Friday, June 15, 2018.  He was born in Surry County April 8, 1940 to the late Thomas and Lillie Johnson Collins. Mr. Collins was a heavy equipment operator and of the Baptist Faith.  He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Gail and Robert Blackburn and Pamela Anthony; a son Thomas David “Tommy” Collins; grandchildren, Joshua J. Blackburn, Mindy Brooke Kennedy and husband Danny, Misty N. Blackburn, Brittany Collins Lawson and Justin David Anthony; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Bartley; a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Joyce Collins.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Macy Harrold Collins; sisters, Pauline Dollyhigh, Helen Hale, Hazel Newman and Virginia Love; and brothers, Raymond and Wilbur Collins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Spurlin officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be to Moody Funeral Home, P.O.
