Joe Bryce Welch

Mr. Joe Bryce Welch of Jamestown, NC husband of Gail Bradsher Welch formerly of Mt. Airy, NC passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.; He was born July 23, 1939 in Surry County, NC to the late George H. and Jessie Belton Welch. He was retired from Welch Refrigeration and and Electrical and served our country in the US Air Force 1957-1961. He was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church and was an avid NASCAR fan. Surviving are his wife, Gail B. Welch, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Terrie Welch Guins and Michael Guins,  Brycha Welch Smart and Jeremy Smart, grandchildren, and wife, Phillip Guins and Cayla Guins, Christopher Guins, Morgan Guins, Audrey Smart and David Duong, two great grandchildren, Claire Guins and Emily Guins, sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Tolbert and Al, Pat Kinney, and Marilyn Thornton and Lynn Cook, a sister in law and husband, Jerrie Welch Gordon and Rixie. 27 nieces and nephews and 48 great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Welch was preceded in death by six sisters including his twin sister, Jane Welch Cook, Jessica Welch Allred, Dot Welch Clifton, LaRue Welch Stanly, Nancy Welch , and infant sister, Peggy Welch and three brothers, Junior Welch, Charles Randall Welch and Frank Welch. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:30 pm until 1:40 pm Wednesday at Moody Funeral home in Mt. Airy, NC. The Rev Alton Bledsoe will officiate the service. On Saturday,  February 18, 2023, there will be a celebration of life at the Jamestown United Methodist Church in Jamestown. NC. The service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. David Greene and Rev. Wendy Barnes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 East Main St., Jamestown, NC 27282.
