John Malcolm Clack, age 76, formally of Surry County, passed away Thursday July 31, 2025, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born September 8, 1948, in Person County NC, to the late Calvin Teague Clack and the late Dorothy Gravitte Clack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Southard Clack.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Rebecca Rockholt; children and spouses, Jett Clack and Alyssa Quintana, Blaine Guyer and Kristy Guyer, and Paul Guyer; grandchildren, Adler Guyer and Isabell Guyer; and brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Patsy Clack.
Mr. John Clack was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He proudly served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he continued to serve in the workforce for 31 years with Johnson Controls until his well-deserved retirement. A member of Salem Fork Baptist Church, John was a man of faith who found joy in his community and church family. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and playing golf. John was known for his infectious smile and optimistic spirit. No matter the challenges he faced, he always managed to see the bright side of life, offering a warm smile and a positive outlook to everyone around him. John’s legacy is one of unwavering joy, kindness, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Moody-Davis Chapel with pastor Sean Joplin officiating. Burial will follow in Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with full military rights by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 219 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Clack family.
