John Walter Gaskell

           Mr. John Walter Gaskell, age 71, of Stuart, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at his home.  He was born in Bethel, VT to the late Paul Gaskell and Dorothy Veasy Gaskell.   He served in the U.S. Army.  He spent most of his life in Vermont before moving to Stuart in 2007.  He loved piano, hunting, fishing, singing, and spending time with his family. 

            Surviving are his wife, Birgitta Stridsberg Gaskell of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Marvin Tallman; a son, Ricky James Gaskell; six grandchildren, Isaiah Gaskell, Ashley Duncan, Amber Duncan, Makayla Tallman Carpenter, Chelsea Tallman Choate, Zachary Tallman; three great grandchildren, Eliott Carpenter, Laurel Carpenter, Vanessa Choate; two sisters, Paula Powers, Judy Bishop; and two brothers, Charles Drudge and George Drudge.

All services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John W. Gaskell Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 307, Stuart, VA 24171.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is assisting the family.
