John Hugh Nations

Mr. John Hugh Nations, age 81, of Elkin NC, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, March30, 2024, at the SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. He was born March 21, 1943, in Surry County, to the late Walter Hugh Nations and the late Ocie Hodges Nations. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Mrs. Inez Fowler Nations; and his son-in-law Bobby Cave. 

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Pam Nations Cave; his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Donnie Chaffin; grandchildren Jason and Dixie Cave, Josh and Bobbi Cave, Jonathan Chaffin (Sydnye Lawson), and Justin Chaffin; great-grandchildren, Jordan Cave, Brian Cave, Jackson Cave, Ethan Cave and Hadley Cave; and his sister JoAnn Wilmoth; and his furry canine companion, Jennifer Rose; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Nations was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, and brother. He was a retired Seargent with the Elkin Police Department, and a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Friday April 5, 2024, at 4:00 PM, in the Snow Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Stone officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Vatca and staff of Atrium Cancer Center in Elkin. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Nations family.
