It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, John "Toby" David Pack, age 68, of Mount Airy, who passed away on November 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. On November 1, 2026, his earthly journey came to an end as he entered his eternal resting place. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his life was filled with love, memories, and moments that will forever be treasured by those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through his family and all whose lives he touched. John was born on May 15, 1958, in Forsyth County to the late Katherine Pack. He leaves behind three loving daughters, Jennifer, Teresa, and Tammy Pack; his cherished grandchildren, Alejandro, Marisol, Jasmine, Rogelio, Omar, Mya, Xavier, Jacxon, Riley, and Jaythan; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Christian, Reyna, Diego, Jazenna, Andres, Adaleigh, Lindsay, Princiipe, Adian, Zekiyah, and Eliana. He is also survived by his sister, Bridget Gammons; his brothers, Ray, Ricky, Timmy, Tony, and Joe Epperson; his beloved fur baby, Coco, who brought him so much joy and companionship; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his mother, Mr. Pack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Randy; his brother, Dwight; and his grandparents, Elijah and Elsie Pack. Toby was a one-of-a-kind man who never met a stranger. He had a generous heart and believed in making sure nobody went without. If you came around him, you could be sure he would make certain you had something to eat. His door was always open, his heart was always giving, and his presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, and you could often find him with a cup of coffee in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Those little things were simply part of who he was and are among the many memories his family and friends will cherish. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Interment will follow at Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Mountain Valley Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided during his brief illness. Your love and care will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice in honor of our dad, in grateful appreciation for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to him and our family. Moody Funeral Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
