John Scott Sanders

Mr. John Scott Sanders, 45, of Raleigh, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 2, 2013, at his home. Mr. Sanders was born October 17, 1968, in Surry County, the son of John and Sandra Inman Sanders. Scott graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1987, where he was a member of the golf team from 1984-1987. He attended North Carolina State University and later graduated from Winston-Salem State University. He was active in Boy Scouts of America, where he was awarded his Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. He is survived by his parents, John and Sandra Inman Sanders of Mount Airy; a son, Jackson Scott Sanders of Smithfield; a sister, Christie Sanders Warren and her husband, Eric Scott Warren, of Mooresville; his aunt, Frances Sanders Cox and her husband, Maxwell, of Roaring Gap; his uncle, Herbert Vance Inman of Mount Airy; a niece, Emily Claire Warren; and a nephew, Eric Scott Warren, Jr. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 4:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy, with Dr. Roger B. Gilbert officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or Hope Valley, Inc., 105 County Home Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Sanders family.
