Johnnie Lee Brooks

Mr. Johnnie Lee Brooks, age 69 of Dobson, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Brooks was born on October 5, 1956, in Surry County to the late Robert Lee and Dorothy Mae Hamlin Brooks. Johnnie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a long career as a truck driver. Surviving is his daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Brooks, Raquel Gustafson and Jeff, Diana Stakes and Adam; son, Angel Brooks; grandchildren, Jeremy Blocker, Ethan Gustafson, Laurena Brooks, Evan Brooks, Nicholas Brooks, Isabela Brooks, Sofia Brooks, Patience Stakes, Shann Stakes; sister and brother-in-law, Vicky Diane Shockley and Ricky; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his grandchild, Kevin Blocker. Per Johnnies’ request, no formal services will be held at this time. A private inurnment will be held at Dobson City Cemetery in Dobson, North Carolina at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
