Joseph Monroe Hall

Mr. Joseph Monroe "Joe" Hall, 61, of 2816 Meadowbrook Road, Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2015, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Hall was born March 8, 1953, in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late Troy and Vivian Dowell Hall. Joe was formerly employed as a delivery associate at Mount Airy Builders. He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Smith Hall of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Laken and David Eades of Cana, VA; two very special grandchildren, Jack Eades and Kadance Eades, both of Cana, VA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elaine Creed of Mount Airy and Edith and Bernie "Copus" Tilley of Cana, VA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Wade Hall of Cana, VA, and Charles and Lois Hall of Hillsville, VA; his mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Ellen Smith and T.R. McGee of the home; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Nelson "Joker" and Janie Dawson of Cana, VA; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jeff Thomas of Cana, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by two brothers, Hobert Hall and James Everett Hall. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Crooked Oak Moravian Church, with the Rev. Gary Easter and the Rev. Israel Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pedigo Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Crooked Oak Moravian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
