Mr. Joseph Howard “Joey” Pinkerton, age 69 of Ferrum, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at SOVAH Health-Martinsville. He was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia on May 27, 1957 to the late Kenneth Ray Pinkerton and Lena Mae Foster Pinkerton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pinkerton was preceded in death by two brothers, Cletis Pinkerton and Dennie Pinkerton; and two sisters, Peggy Greer and Linda Crosier. He loved watching NASCAR Racing, his Camaro, riding his boat, sitting and relaxing on his front porch enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with friends.

Mr. Pinkerton is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah Griffith Pinkerton; a daughter, Shannon Huff and husband Charles; a grandson, Gabriel Huff; two brothers, Jerry Pinkerton and Ronnie Pinkerton; and a sister, Diana Pinkerton.

Funeral services for Mr. Pinkerton will be held Monday, August 31, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor James Cockram officiating. Burial will follow in the Jeff Turner Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
