Joyce Faye Senter Combs

Mrs. Joyce Faye Senter Combs, age 78 of Dobson, passed away at her home on December 14, 2023.  She was born November 17, 1945, in Surry County to the late Nellie Mae Senter.  Mrs. Combs was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amanda Combs of Landrum, SC; son, Charles Jay Combs of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Dylan Casstevens, Priscilla Dearborn, and Nevaeh Casstevens; great grandchildren, Talon Dearborn and Tyson Galloway; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Billy Cooley; two brothers, Jimmy Ray and Jackie Senter, and Raymond and Barbara Senter; a special great aunt, Ellen Stewart of Sevierville, TN; special friends, Tim and Blanche Whitt, and Mr. Pete; and several other family and friends.  In addition to her mother, Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Dennis Combs.  Graveside services will be Tuesday December 19, 2023, at 2:00pm in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Arlis Thomas will be officiating.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 12:30 – 1:30pm.  The family would like to give a special thank you to Tim, Blanche, and Pete for all of the companionship through the years.  Also, a big thank you to Surry County Emergency Services and the first responders for all of their assistance and compassion.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
