Joyce Ann Meredith Meekins

Mrs. Joyce Ann Meredith Meekins, 62, of 311 Salisbury Street, Kernersville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2015, at Duke University Hospital in Durham. Mrs. Meekins was born July 29, 1952, in Forsyth County, to Maude Matthews Meredith and the late Warren G. Meredith. Joyce was the receiving clerk at Hanesbrands Distribution Center in Winston-Salem for 28 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, Richard Carlyle Meekins of the home; two sons, David Wayne Sizemore (Amanda Wright) of Lowgap and Travis Ray Sizemore of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, David Wayne Sizemore, II, Clara Isabelle, Aliyah Grace Sizemore, Adison Grey Sizemore, Warren Chancellor Sizemore, Bailey Elizabeth Sizemore, and Charles Brooks Sizemore; her mother, Maude Matthews Meredith of Ararat; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Eva Meredith and Roger and Edith Meredith, all of Ararat. In addition to her father, Mrs. Meekins was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Hawks and Barbara Beck; and a brother, David Meredith. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Robbie Sizemore officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the congregation at Blues Grove Baptist Church.
