Joyce Ann Willard Richardson

Ms. Joyce Ann Willard Richardson, 69, of 109 Dorothy Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday evening, March 26, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Richardson was born May 24, 1945, in Surry County, the daughter of the late James Melvin and Dorothy Hicks Willard. Joyce retired from Sara Lee Hosiery and was a member of New Venture Baptist Church. Above all, Joyce was a very loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anne Marie and Steve Swain of Wilmington; a son and daughter-in-law, John Kim and Mary Richardson of Mount Airy; and five grandchildren, Sydney Swain, Megan Swain, Courtney Dawson, Henry Richardson, and Emily Richardson. In addition to her parents, Ms. Richardson was preceded in death by a son, Terry Mills; and two brothers, Larry Willard and Ronnie Willard. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Larry E. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
