Joye Anne Norman Holder

Mrs. Joye Anne Norman Holder, 87, of Woodlawn, VA, and formerly of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Mrs. Holder was born October 4, 1938, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Walter Columbus and Ethel Caudle Norman. Joye faithfully served the Lord throughout her life through her gift of music, sharing her talents as a pianist and vocalist for many years. She was a member of River of Life Fellowship Church of Galax, VA. She retired from American General Life Insurance Company and, following her retirement, continued her career with Mike Marshall Insurance Company in Mount Airy. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and the Rev. Ty Harrison; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Alanna Holder and Kelly and Jill Holder; her grandchildren, Joye Harrison Allison (John), Elizabeth Harrison, Lydia Harrison, Mady Holder, Alex Holder, Logan Holder (Madison), and Ian Holder (Allison); her stepgrandchildren, Piper Young and Lydia Young; two great-grandchildren, Jack Allison and Jane Allison; her twin sister, Joyce Norman Parker and her husband, Jerry; two nephews, the Rev. Mike Parker (Debbie) and Mitch Parker (Kim); several great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Barbara Bennett (Gene). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Chester Holder; and a sister, Barbara Jean Norman. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Ty Harrison and the Rev. Mike Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017; or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28217.
