Mrs. Juanita Irene Case Tate, 87, of 2655 Wards Gap Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Tate was born May 18, 1924, in Rockingham County, to the late Willie Bryan and Sallie Irene Martin Case. She was a graduate of Mayodan High School. Juanita retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a homemaker. She was also a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she served in several capacities. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Phillip Robinson of Mancos, CO; two grandchildren and their spouses, Armenda and Sean Kontogianis of Aurora, CO, and Allen and Amalia Robinson of Virginia Beach, VA; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Peggie Thomas and Helen Tate, both of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, John William Tate; and three brothers, William Thomas Case, Charles Lindsey Case, and Wallace Bernard Case. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund or Scholarship Fund, 128 Myers Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
