Judson Roger Monkus

Mr. Judson Roger Monkus, age 86, of State Road, NC passed away on Saturday evening June 1, 2019, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Surry County on December 25, 1932, to the late Ellis and Ella Blevins Monkus.  He was the owner and operator of RJ Monkus Construction and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Moncus and Noah Moncus.  Surviving is his wife Evalee Johnson Monkus; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Gary Hodgin, Jeraldine and Jimmy Quesinberry, Tammy Trent; son Danny Monkus; seven grandchildren Amy Holt, Corey Quesinberry, Brandon Mayes, Bryson Mayes, Cole Trent, Heath Atkins, Andrew Hodgin; seven great-grandchildren Brayden Holt, Caleb Holt, Gracie Quesinberry, Hunter Quesinberry, Blake Mayes, Aries Byrd, Ryker Hodgin; Best friend Wayne Edmonds.  Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with a private burial to be held later.  Brother Corey Quesinberry and Brother Ray Wilson will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until the time of his services at 8:00 PM.
