Judy Layne Bonds Crowder

Mrs. Judy Layne Bonds Crowder, age 81, of Siloam, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at her home.  She was born in Carroll County on May 4, 1942 to the late Rev. Vernie and Ruth Cobler Chittam Bonds.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Teresa Cowles; sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis Reed, Charles Manning (Theresa), John Manning (Kathleen); six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda Opry, Barbara Bonds, Loonie Melton (Steve), Jennell Hiatt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay Bonds (Angela), Jimmy Bonds, Freddie Bonds (Connie).  In addition to her parents Mrs. Crowder was preceded in death by her husband, James Crowder; brothers, Charles, and Clayton Bonds; four infant siblings, Samuel, Melvin, Naomie, Ruth and Euna Bonds.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cobler Cemetery with service conducted by Rev. Thomas Bailey.  There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
