Mrs. Judy Ann Goad Hornak, age 78 of Mount Airy, entered into eternal rest following a brief illness on June 19, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital with her husband Daniel at her side. Mrs. Hornak was born in Radford, Virginia to the late Senior Rector and Francis Elizabeth Cooper Goad. Judy was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She retired after many years as a Grants Management Officer for the Public Health Service in Washington, D.C. Judy began her career at an entry level and worked her way up through dedication, work ethics, compassion, and loyalty. She was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church for nearly two decades in Dobson and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband, Daniel Ray Hornak; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Lynn Seibert (Tommy), Shannon Renee Tomchick (Damon); three step sons, Daniel James Hornak, John Patrick Hornak, Uri Benjamin Hornak; eleven grandchildren, Josh (Ashley), Taylor, Allyssa (Reece) Hannah, Alex, Brianna (Brady), Bianca, Calista (Dylan), Marianna, Samuel, Ryan; six great-grandchildren, Noah, Hunter, Luke, Lala, Caden, Robyn, and two on the way; Also a brother and sister-in-law, Danny Goad and Margaret; along with a niece and nephew. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hornak was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Elizabeth Goad Knapp; and two stepbrothers, Frank Goad, and Kenneth Goad. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Salem Baptist Church in Dobson, visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor David Trump and Pastor Michael Gentry. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Judy’s favorite charity.
