Judy Patricia Joyce

Ms. Judy Patricia Joyce, age 79 of Martinsville, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Sovah Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Patrick County on October 17, 1944, to the late Harry Lee Joyce and Cora Ethel Pilson Joyce. In addition to her parents, Ms. Joyce was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jasmyne Danyel Ingram; and a sister-in-law, Willmond Joyce. She was a faithful member of West Liberty Christian Church in Woolwine where she loved attending and sang in the choir. She enjoyed listening to music, traveling, and sharing a meal with her family and friends. She was a known fashionista who never turned down a shopping trip. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Ms. Joyce is survived by a daughter, Estelle Mildred Barner (Michael) of Martinsville; a granddaughter, Brittany Nikole Ingram; four siblings, Edward Lee Joyce of Baltimore, Maryland, Barbara J. Hoyman (Neal) of Takoma Park, Maryland, Linda J. Rucker (Kenneth) of Martinsville and Louis Joyce (Iowa) of Martinsville; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Ms. Joyce will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Wimbush eulogizing and Minister Curtis Leander Pilson officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
