Julia Belle Nester Alderman

Mrs. Julia Belle Nester Alderman, age 93 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her home. She was born in Carroll County on May 21, 1922 to the late Lewis Nester and Mary Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie H. Alderman and Eleven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Alderman was the owner and operator of Blue Ridge Motel and Restaurant for over 65 years and a longtime member of Tory Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Alderman is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Lee Ayers of Meadows of Dan; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Ina Alderman of Laurel Fork; two grandsons, Shawn Ayers, Craig Alderman; one granddaughter, Tamara Farmer, three great granddaughters, Jennifer Ayers, Kaitlin Farmer, and Megan Alderman; four great grandsons, Hayden Farmer, Aaron Farmer, Cody Alderman, and Michael Ayers; and one great-great grandson, Matthew Bain.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alderman will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday September 8, 2015 at Tory Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Alfred Hylton officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Maple Shade Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services and other times at the home.
