Julie Ann Gwyn Hicks

Mrs. Julie Ann Gwyn Hicks, 74 of Mt. Airy passed away at her sons home Friday, July 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1940 to the late Thomas David and Nancy Loella Dean Gwyn. Mrs. Hicks was a homemaker and a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda Cain and Jerry, Theresa Danley and Charles all of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, John Wayne Hicks, Jr. and Heather of Mt. Airy; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister and brothers-in-law, Audene Slate and Donnie, Johnny Slate all of Mt. Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis Gwyn and Pauline, Larry Gwyn and Penny all of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Hicks, Sr.; sisters, Lorraine Galyean, Rosie Johnson, Ila Hall and Ethel Slate; brothers, Richard and Harvey Gwyn. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Darrell Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
