Karen Lynn Sumner

Mrs. Karen Lynn Hardy Sumner, 66, of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born in Surry County on April 6, 1956, to the late Charlie Wayne and Lou Nell Kallam Hardy.  Mrs. Sumner retired from the town of Pilot Mountain.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.  She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Sumner; a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Joshua Francis; grandchildren, Laura Francis, Leigh Francis, and Lydia Francis.  A graveside service will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Corn officiating.  There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted.  Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
