Kathy Ann Howell Cruz

Mrs. Kathy Ann Howell Cruz, age 72 of Floyd, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 20, 1953 to Otis Howell and Shirley Mae Reynolds Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Russell Michael Cruz; one brother, Mike Perry; and step-father, Bob Perry.

She was the co-owner of Russell Cruz Tile company with her husband. She loved her work with the tile company, and enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, and hunting. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Cruz is survived by three sisters, Marsha Dalton (Eddie), Mary Perry, and Vera Thompson (Robert); three brothers, Wayne Howell (Lisa), Darrell Howell (Tammy), and Calvin Shortt (Sandra); four nieces, Kala Nikole Garner (Matt), Karla Tucker (Harley), Amber Bias (Darren), and Sarah Keith; five nephews, Jamison Howell, Austin Saunders (Kayla), Austin Howell, Josh Thompson (Brianna), Caleb Thompson, and many great nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. in the Light Family Cemetery on Squirrel Spur Road, Meadows of Dan, Virginia with Pastor Angie Sowers officiating.
