Kay (Jarrell) Rogers

Mrs. Kay Jarrell Rogers, age 78, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Rogers was born on November 6, 1945, in Surry County to Norris Gray Jarrell, Sr. and the late Faye Davenport Jarrell. Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Jimmy Roy Rogers, a son, Brian Rogers; three grandchildren, Ashley Rogers, Shannon Nolette and Alex, Brian Rogers; one great-grandchild on the way; her father, Norris Gray Jarrell, Sr.; a sister-in-law, Judy Jarrell; a niece, Lori Jarrell; and a nephew Jody Jarrell. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Davenport Jarrell; and a brother, Norris Gray Jarrell, Jr. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, 12:00 PM at Simmons Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jacob Hall officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
