Kenneth Maurice Lawing

Mr. Kenneth Maurice Lawing, 68, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday night, September 4, 2026.

Mr. Lawing was born November 16, 1957, in Forsyth County, the son of the late Kenner Lawing and Peggy Marsh Whisenant. He retired from Ecolab after several years of dedicated service.

Maurice had a love for rock and roll music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He cherished his family and especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He also had a green thumb and found great joy in gardening. When he was not tending to his garden or enjoying music, Maurice could often be found riding his dirt bike.

He is survived by his wife, Dina Swiergiel Lawing; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Timothy Belton and April and Cliff Jarrell; four grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson, Savannah Lawing, Brooklyn Belton, and Memphis Jarrell; two stepgrandchildren, Gracie Belton and Josh Belton; and a niece, Morgan Lawing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawing was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Whisenant; and a brother, Terry Lawing.

A memorial visitation is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
