Kenneth Ray Norman

.Mr. Kenneth Ray Norman, 72, of Ararat, VA, passed away at his home Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born in Surry County April 20, 1949, to the late Raymond and Marie Sutphin Norman. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Norman was a hardworking man, retiring from Bassett Furniture after 31 years of service. He started playing pool at a young age and traveled for several years to play in tournaments, winning many trophies. He told his daughter once when trying to teach her to shoot pool, “you either have the gift or you don’t, and… you don’t. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Teresa Lowe; his grandson and wife, Shawn and Christy Snow; a great grandchild is due in 2022; sisters, Frankie Norman, Diane Turney; special sisters, Janice Gordan, Debbie Puckett, and Ada Marshall. In addition to his parents, Mr. Norman was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Mayola Goins Norman. A memorial service will be held at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, with Rev. Anthony Thomas officiating.
