Mrs. Kimberely Suzanne Strickland, age 56, of Ararat, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born on May 15, 1969 in Surry County to David “D.A” Strickland and the late Judy Wilmoth Strickland Sandlin. Mrs. Strickland ran Brighter Child Daycare for several years before pursuing her degree in nursing. She graduated from Salem College with a degree in Communications and went on to the University of Virginia where she graduated with a degree in nursing, she was a Registered Nurse at The Life Center in Galax, VA. She enjoyed international travel with her sister, loved to travel across the country with her family, and loved playing games. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Russell Suiter; daughter, Lola Lane Strickland Suiter; sister, Kristie Strickland (Patrick Smith); father and stepmother, David “D.A” Strickland (Connie); stepbrother, Anthony Qualls (Melonie); stepsister, Tammy Ashburn (Billy); special aunt, Shirley Strickland Thomas; nieces, Bailey Strickland, Carmen Smith; cousins, Angela Golding (Danny), Robin Slate (Greg); special friend, Melinda Cartwright as well as numerous other family members and friends; her fur baby, Coco Chanel. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Wilmoth Strickland Sandlin; stepfather, Gary Sandlin. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Ford Christian Church with service conducted by Pastors Dud Spencer and Don’l Blevins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
