Mrs. Lala Pendleton Hubbard, age 82 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior at her home on Saturday, May 16, 2026. She was born in Patrick County on June 30, 1943, to the late Oren Harrison Pendleton and Iva Elsie Hylton Pendleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larkin “Eugene” Hubbard and a grandson, Sprout Rhodes. Lala attended Faith Baptist Church in Meadows of Dan. She was known affectionately as "Granny" to many, Lala opened her home and heart to countless children, providing loving childcare that touched many lives. Her greatest treasure was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lala also loved traveling with her children, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, care, and boundless love.
Left to cherish the memories of Lala are her three children, Tammy Wood (Troy), Sande Hubbard, and Bradley Hubbard (Marcy); 6 grandchildren, Rebecca McMeans (Thomas), Leslie Norman (Nicole), Rosie Wood, Tristan Hubbard (fiancé, Bradley Davis), Brooklyn Rhodes, and Sierra Hubbard; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Pendleton and Edward Pendleton (Belle); two sisters, Frances Rorrer and Elva Belcher; one brother-in-law, Pete Hubbard (Linda); one sister-in-law, Lelia Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service of Mrs. Hubbard will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Marcus Wood and Pastor Joe Young officiating. The burial will immediately follow in the Hubbard Family Cemetery in Meadows of Dan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 911, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
