Mr. Larry Donald Hamm, age 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday morning September 12, 2024, at Surry Community Health Center by Harborview in Mount Airy with his loving family by his side. Mr. Hamm was born April 17, 1945, to the late Fred Hamm and Hester Marshall Hamm in Stokes County. He was a loving husband, brother and friend, he’ll be deeply missed by all that knew him. Mr. Hamm was retired from Pine State Knitting as a machine operator after 30 plus years of service, his most recent job was working at the Flat Rock Recycling Center were he made many friends over the past 19 years. Together him and his wife were both faithful members of Church of God Prophecy for 23 years. Surviving Mr. Hamm is his loving wife of 55 years, Sarah Hamm; sister, Gail Mickey; Uncle and Aunt, Leonard Hamm and Margaret; Aunt Lucille Hamm, nephew and spouse, Jeffrey Mickey and Karyn; great nephew, Macon Mickey; sisters-in-laws, Nellie Bowman, Ruth Woods, Carolyn Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jerry Mickey. A celebration of Mr. Hamm’s life will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with the Pastor Tommy Bailey and Dr. David Sparks officiating. A burial will follow in the Korners Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to thank everyone for all of their love and prayers shown during Mr. Hamm brief sickness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Hamm family.
