Larry Roy Haynes

Mr. Larry Roy Haynes, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009, at his home. Mr. Haynes was born February 19, 1949, in Surry County, to Mary Smith Haynes and the late Conrad Coleman Haynes. He served our country in the United States Air Force and was retired from R.J. Reynolds. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Johnson and her boyfriend, Kevin Denney, of Winston-Salem; a son, Brian Haynes of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Sadie Johnson; his mother, Mary Smith Haynes of the home; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Haynes of Winston-Salem, Johnnie and Evelyn Haynes of Dobson, and Barbara Haynes of Winston-Salem. In addition to his father, Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Haynes. The funeral sevice will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ricky Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery, with military rites by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
