Larry Gene Hutchins

Mr. Larry Gene Hutchins, age 62, of State Road, North Carolina, went to be with our lord on Wednesday July 29, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 26, 1947 in Surry County to the late Robert Hutchins and Ramona Midkiff Hutchins Cheek. One son Larry Hutchins Jr. and a brother Kenneth W. Hutchins precede him in death. He was a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed very much. He enjoyed and was a member of the Civil War Re-enactor's. His favorite pastime was restoring and selling old guns along with his love of his horses and other farm animals. Surviving are his wife Tammy Lowe Hutchins of the home; one son Kevin G. Hutchins of Mocksville; three daughters, his very special daughter Kim Robison (Jim) of Jonesville, Kristin Hutchins of Mocksville, Melissa Lang (Russell) of Jacksonville, NC; four grandchildren Wesley Robison, Nicholas and Nathan Lang and Braylon Arnold; one step granddaughter Destiny S. Lyons (papa's baby); a very special brother Dennis Hutchens (Nancy) of Dobson; a brother-in-law Lonnie R. Lowe of the home; a uncle Thurmond Midkiff (Mary Ellen) of Mt. Airy; along with several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in the Midkiff Cemetery in Flat Rock. Rev. Tony White will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Friday morning from 9 until 10:30 AM.
