Laura Marie Edwards Doby

Mrs. Laura Marie Edwards Doby, age 84, of Dobson, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born August 14, 1939, in Carroll County, VA, to the late John Madison “Matt” Edwards, and the late Ethel Odessa Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Virgil Doby; her sister, Ruby Sumner; and her brother, Odell Edwards.

Left to cherish her memories are her sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Ray Holyfield, and Betty and Mack Wright, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Doby was a retired hairdresser and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Charles Elmore and Bro. Trent Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 955, Dobson NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Doby family.
