Laura Katherine Utt McCraw

Mrs. Laura Katherine Mildred Utt McCraw, age 73 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. McCraw was born in Surry County on April 20, 1941 to Claude Lee and Emma Frances Mathis Utt. She was such a loving, kind and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to so many. She will be dearly missed by her devoted family and friends. Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Patty McCraw, Patricia McCraw and boyfriend, Steve Quesinberry and Amanda and Michael Jenkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Frances McCraw, Roy and Cindy McCraw and Jimmy McCraw and girlfriend Tina Holt and Phillip Ray Utt; grandchildren, Austin Jenkins, Abigail Jenkins, Tiffany Lambert, Ryan McCraw, Taylor McCraw, Jessica McCraw, Junior Phillips, Wendy McCraw, Samantha France, Jeffery Lindsay, April Lindsay; eleven great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Gary Towe, Jane and William Coake; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Utt, Carl and Irene Utt, Junior and Jeannie Utt and Mack and Josephine Utt; special friends Rick and Shirley Putnam and special dog Smokey Joe. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCraw was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee McCraw; a grandson, Bradly Dwayne Jenkins and a sister, Dorothy Gwyn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at New Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Jimmy McCraw. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. McCraw will lie in state at the church thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
