Leo Pipes

Mr. Leo Pipes, 59, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Pipes was born October 11, 1951, in Patrick County, VA, to June and Audrey Mabe Pipes. He was a retired plumber. Surviving are his wife, Jean Boyd Pipes of the home; two sons, Chad Pipes and Scott Pipes; stepchildren, Hope Crutti, Lisa Schonknecht, and Charles Presslar; four grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Frances Apell. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
