Leroy Scott Leftwich

Mr. Leroy Scott Leftwich, 53, of Mount Airy, passed away at his home on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Mr. Leftwich was born January 1, 1973, in Surry County, to Peggy Anderson Leftwich and the late Larry Dean “Peewee” Leftwich. Scott grew up in Mount Airy and graduated from North Surry High School in 1991. Following graduation, he attended the B.L.E.T. program at Surry Community College. Upon completion, he proudly served his community as a deputy sheriff with the Surry County Sheriff’s Office, where he was respected for his dedication and willingness to help those in need.

Following his service in law enforcement, Scott began a career in sales. His easy charm and genuine nature gave him a gift for connecting with people, allowing him to build lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike. He truly never met a stranger.

Scott’s greatest joy was his family. He loved them deeply, especially his children, who meant the world to him.

He is survived by his wife, Mandi Leftwich; his children, Kaleb Leftwich, Kylee Leftwich, Kennedi Leftwich, and Kayden Leftwich; his mother and stepfather, Peggy and Jerry Lowe; his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Brent Casstevens; and his nephew, Zac Casstevens, his partner, Rhiannon Cox, and their children, Brantley, Skylan, and Lynleigh Casstevens.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Leftwich Homeplace, 463 Watson Road, Mount Airy.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to contribute to a GoFundMe, “Support Mandi and Her Kids After Their Loss,” established to assist the family during this time and support the children’s future.
