Mrs. Leslie Diane Bristol Stanley, 69 of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday January 11, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born October 31, 1956, in Richland County, SC to the late Eugene LeGraund Bristol and Jeanette Hoover Bristol. Diane graduated from Surry Community College and worked in nursing for nearly 4 decades. Her retirement plans reflected a continued commitment of service and she had begun volunteering for Alzheimer's research and awareness. She loved reading, movies, bowling, photography, travel, delicious food and serving her church and community. She was an active member of Midway Baptist church where she helped serve in many capacities. The one closest to her heart was working as a leader for their youth program. She lived with humor, grace, and humility, and left a legacy of generosity in the service of others, always more concerned with what could be given rather than what could be gained. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tony Randall Stanley of the home; son, Christopher Matthew Brackins and daughter-in-law Indira Rianna Reid; stepsons, Randy Stanley, Ryan Stanley, and Andrew and daughter-in-law Emily Stanley; a step grandson, Blake Stanley; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Billy Simpson; niece and nephew, Kaela Grace Simpson and Luke Eugene Simpson; aunt, Shirley Copeland; special fur baby, Sam; and several other beloved family members and her lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 17, 2026, at Midway Baptist Church at 1pm. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations, in her honor, be made to Brain Tumor and Alzheimer's research, causes close to her heart that will continue her legacy of helping others. Their preferred non-profit organizations are American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Ste 550, Chicago, IL 60631 or to Bright Focus Foundation, Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Dr., Clarksburg, MD 20871.
