Mrs. Letty Lee Crissman Hiatt, 76, of Pilot Mountain passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on April 5, 1947, to the late Samuel Francis Crissman and Sallie Olivia Lawson Crissman Whitt. Mrs. Hiatt was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was retired from Sara Lee and was a member of Rescue Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby and Randy Bryant, Sharon Hiatt, and Cindy and RD Bingman; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy John “TJ” and Leah Hiatt; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lucille Crissman, Shirley Crissman, Edith Crissman, Betty Ann Moorefield; special friends, Joann Dezern, and Sally Smith; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Hiatt; a sister, Evelyn Elizabeth “Betty” Lawson; and five brothers, William “Bill” Henry Crissman, Thomas Jackson Crissman, George Crissman, Esker Lee Crissman, and baby Cary Edward Crissman. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Rescue Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Hogan Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is assisting the Hiatt family.
