Levia Midkiff Eads

Mrs. Levia Midkiff Eads, 92, of Winston-Salem, formerly of 305 Cadle Ford Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, April 28, 2012 at Arbor Acres Retirement Community. Mrs. Eads was born April 2, 1920, in Surry County, the daughter of the late D.J. Midkiff and Willie Belle Mitchell Midkiff. Mrs. Eads retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Flat Rock Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Marsha and Tony Bledsoe of Advance and Karen and Monty Vernon of Mount Airy; three grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Chad and Ashley Bledsoe of Clyde, Christy and Paul Cooper of Catania, Sicily, and Jennifer and Jonathan Simmons of Mount Airy; three great-grandchildren, Drew Cooper, Dylan Cooper, and Jake Simmons; and a sister, Edith Midkiff McPeak of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eads was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Eads; three sisters, Doris Midkiff Johnson, Ethel Midkiff Tesh, and Macy Midkiff McKnight; and three brothers, Glenn Midkiff, Dave Midkiff, and Ralph Midkiff. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 30, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dr. Donald Schofield, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
