Lillian Jewell Zimmerman Hill

Mrs. Lillian Jewell Zimmerman Hill, 89, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, February 24, 2014, at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Hill was born July 4, 1924, in Wyandotte County, KS, the daughter of the late Mark Fay and Grace Isadora Gilstrap Zimmerman. Lillian was a member of Grace Moravian Church. She is survived by a daughter and two sons-in-law, Joyce Ann Hill Schweitzer and Fred Frank Schweitzer of Greensboro and Terry Douglas Pruett of Mount Airy; four grandchildren and their spouses, Chadwick Wayne Pruett of Mount Airy, Jeremy Justin and Noelle Munoz Pruett of Charlotte, Rebecca Schweitzer of Middletown, OH, and Ginger Schweitzer Gaines and Joseph Robert Gaines of Summerfield; eight great-grandchildren, Chase Douglas Pruett, Brett Thomas Pruett, Jackson Munoz Pruett, Charlotte Jewell Gaines, Joseph Bryson Gaines, Dale Lewis Gaines, Dylan Quinn Schweitzer-Crowther, and Emily Catherine Schweitzer-Crowther; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Zimmerman of Asheville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Leon Hill; a daughter, Wanda Lee Hill Pruett; a sister, Elizabeth Zimmerman Fuss; and two brothers, Martin Zimmerman and Fred Zimmerman. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Grace Moravian Church, with the Rev. Neil Routh officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
