Lillie Mae Danley

Mrs. Lillie Mae Upchurch Danley, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 1, 2018, at Central Continuing Care.  Mrs. Danley was born August 19, 1930, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie Baker Upchurch.  Lillie Mae was a homemaker and a member of Blackwater Community Church.  She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Junior Danley of Mount Airy; a son, James “Jimmy” Upchurch; a grandson, Darius Upchurch; a sister, Mamie Potts of Mount Airy; and a special great nephew, Robert “R.P.” Potts of Dobson.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Danley was preceded in death by a grandson, Allen Upchurch; a sister, Emmie Casey; and four brothers, Raleigh Upchurch, Greenberry Upchurch, Clayton Upchurch, and Brady Upchurch.  The funeral service will be held Monday, November 5, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Ted Crotts and the Rev. Timmy Crotts officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blackwater Community Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Central Continuing Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
