Mrs. Linda Mae Johnson Lawson, 73, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Lawson was born November 8, 1951, in Richmond County, the daughter of the late Samuel Thomas and Alva Mae Willard Johnson. Linda worked at Cross Creek Apparel for many years. Then she dedicated her life to the service and care of others, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and unwavering kindness. Whether as a caregiver or simply in everyday life, Linda had a remarkable ability to sense the needs of others and offer comfort without hesitation. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Dianne Johnson, Esker Beck and Sandra Smith, and Dallas and Deborah Beck; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Gail Yates, Barbara Beasley, Mavis Holt, and Melinda Shinault; two brothers, Wayne Johnson and Herbert Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lawson; a sister, Tensie Gammons; and four brothers, Charles Thomas Johnson (infant), Fred Samuel Johnson, Ronnie Ray Johnson, and Aubrey Dale Johnson. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the home of Dallas and Deborah Beck. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
