Mrs. Linda Lou Loftis Watts, 87 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday March 6, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born December 1, 1938, to the late William Earl “Bill” Loftis and Elfra Equilla “Tootsie” Gunnell Loftis. She grew up in the Flat Rock Community and was a graduate of Mount Airy High School. She had retired from Surry County Home Health after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Watts loved and attended Temple Baptist Church and her life was Proverbs 31, but her main superpowers was being Mimi and loving her family. Mrs. Watts is survived by her husband, Milano Lee “Ham” Watts; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mark Hall; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Darline Watts, and Mark and Lisa Watts; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Erica) Jones, Kelly (Scott) Ordway, Bobby (Hailey) Watts, Justin (Jayna) Lewis, Johnathan (Rachel) Lewis, Leslie Watts, and Jared Watts; five great grandchildren, Abbi Jones, Bailey and Emma Mosley, and Ella and Esmae Lewis; two sisters, Patricia Ann Midkiff, and Frances Lynn Cox; and by several other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by a sister, Betsy Dare Loftis Cox; and two brothers, Barry Duke Loftis and Harry James “Josh” Loftis. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 12, 2026, at 2:00pm at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Fishel and Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00pm at Temple Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a grateful thank you to Renew Wound Care, Pilot Holistic Health Care, and to the Temple Baptist Church family for all of the love and care given too Mrs. Watts and the family. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church Missions, 3615 Rockford St., Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
