Lonnie Miller Draughn

Mr. Lonnie Miller Draughn, age 87 of Mount Airy, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 2, 2025, at Northern Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Draughn was born on October 25, 1937, in Surry County to the late Dallas David and Anna Beatrice Smith Draughn. Lonnie was a loving husband, stepfather, step-grandfather, brother, and friend. Surviving is stepdaughter, Bridgette Bunker, stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Sandy Bunker and Rhonda; step-grandchildren, Marlee Bunker Tolbert and Jarred, Austin Rideout, Paige Draughn and Chase; great-grandchild, Eden Tolbert; brothers and sister-in-law, Rudy Draughn and Karen, Jimmy Draughn; sister-in-law, Janie Jessup Draughn; brother-in-law, Richard Starr; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Draughn was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Alice Faye Strickland Draughn; sisters, Bertie Draughn Starr, Peggy Draughn Mosely; a brother, Gene David Draughn; and sister-in-law, Effie Draughn. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Garden with Reverend Joe Smith and Elder Marcus Draughn officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northern Regional Hospital, Skilled Nursing Unit, 830 Rockford Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
