Lorene Boyd West

Mrs. Gladys Lorene Boyd West, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015, at her home. Mrs. West was born January 10, 1931, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Elmer and Nancy Elizabeth Marshall Boyd. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her grandsons, Chris Mosley and his wife, Clara, and Chad Jones and his fiancée, Lori Beasley; a granddaughter, Corie Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Brooklyn Mosley, and Madison Mosley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Cecil West; a daughter, Paige West; an infant son; a sister, Mabel Rose; and three brothers, Maynard Boyd, Vernon Boyd and Eugene Boyd. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Mountain View Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Ararat, VA, with the Rev. Bill Watson officiating. There will not be a formal visitation. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
