Lorine Armstrong Marshall

Ms. Lorine Armstrong Marshall, 79 of Ararat, VA, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Richmond, VA, on November 7, 1946, to the late George Douglas Armstrong and Virginia Irene Hicks Armstrong. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother "Nanny Ball", and friend. Lorine loved Elvis and I Love Lucy, working puzzles, but most of all she always put others first before her. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons and a daughter-in-law, Roy L. Marshall, Randy Marshall, and Joe and Kimberly Marshall; three grandchildren, Joe Marshall, Jr., Mark and Sarah Willard, and Alexis Bourne; two great grandchildren, Asher Willard and Abel Willard; several nieces and nephews, and many more family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ms. Armstrong was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Church; and by her two brothers, George Armstrong, Jr. and Bobbie Johnson. Per Nanny Ball’s wishes, there will not be any public services. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
