On Friday, January 2, 2026, Mrs. Louise Beasley Beamer passed from this world into her eternal glory while surrounded by her adoring and loving family. And even as her earthly vessel drew its final breath, there was no doubt that her legacy of love and selflessness would long outlive her earthly life.
Mrs. Beamer grew up in the Franklin Community. She graduated from Franklin High School, where she was class valedictorian. Subsequently, she graduated from Guilford College with her teaching degree. And afterwards she married the love of her life, Hampton Beamer. Hampton and Louise had 66 glorious years together as they raised their three girls, planted themselves in their community, and made a life together.
Hampton farmed early on and later established a successful insurance agency, while Louise followed her absolute “calling” to teach in elementary school. Giving three decades of her life teaching third grade at Franklin Elementary – she could hardly dine out in public without a former student approaching her to tell her what an impact she had on their life.
Louise exhibited an uncommon spirit of grace, joy, and kindness. She had a world-class smile that would light up the darkest room. Her encouraging spirit and gentle demeanor would lift one in their lowest of times.
Educating children was a true “calling” for Mrs. Beamer, that she excelled at in a powerful way. That mission to educate and shape young minds was never more acute than in the raising of her own children. A doting and loving mother; a supreme example of Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman?’ “Mama” and “Nana” was everything a mother and wife should be. And no doubt, those three daughters, in seeing their mother’s joy and love for teaching and shaping young minds – found that same calling as Sheila, Deborah, and Sarah all three gave their careers to the education of young minds.
Her Passion for teaching the young extended beyond public education. She and her husband were lifelong members and pillars of Antioch Baptist Church in Mount Airy. It was in that church that Mrs. Beamer again touched the hearts and lives of so many young people. A Sunday School teacher, Acteens Leader, GA Leader, Choir member, and Vacation Bible School Leader for over three decades.
A rich, full, and joyful life for nearly nine decades, Mrs. Beamer never lost her warm smile and sweet spirit. And even in her final years ,as time had wrought its will on her earthly vessel, her loving family cared for her in a way that would have made her so proud. And being one so worthy of that loving care, her husband and daughters did the work of Christ in ministering to her every need.
The life of Louise Beasley Beamer is best summarized by the husband she shared 66 years with – “she was giver and not a taker”. This woman of God has left this world better for having lived in it (would that same be said of us all). And while her family and friends will grieve her absence, until they are reunited, this virtuous woman’s legacy of unconditional love and selflessness will live and breathe in the hearts and minds of all those she touched.
Surviving is her husband of 66 years, Terry “Hampton” Beamer; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Beamer McHone and Jerry, Deborah Beamer Brintle and David, Sarah Beamer Nixon and Josh; four grandchildren and their spouses, Chelsea Brintle Hawks and Josh, Rachel Brintle Bridges and Trevor, Hannah Nixon Frazee and Trey, McKinley Beamer Nixon; four great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Hawks, Emery Kate Hawks, Rhett Samuel Hawks, and Brooks Hampton Bridges.
Mrs. Beamer was preceded in death by her parents, Woltz Louis and Annie Flippen Beasley; and a sister, Hazel Beasley McMillian.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Mount Airy with Dr. Darrell Tate and Reverend Dale Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Antioch Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
