Lowell Delano Martin

Mr. Lowell Delano “Fuzz” Martin, 79, of 184 Poor Boys Trail, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, April 27, 2016, at Golden Living Center. Mr. Martin was born May 25, 1936, in Surry County, the son of the late Lowell L. “Lowe” and Ollie Parker Martin. He was the former owner and operator of Satterfield’s Market and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Riggs Freeman of the home; a stepson, Jeff Freeman of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ula Mae Martin; two sisters, Gertrude Scales and Mavis Stewart; and a brother, T.W. Martin. The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Chris Park officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
