Lucille Puckett Adams Riggans

Lucille Puckett Adams Riggans, 88, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away January 17, 2026, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Born May 15, 1937, to the late Jessie Franklin Puckett and the late Lola Davis Puckett in Surry County, NC. Lucille was a hardworking woman, a devoted mother, a loving mother-in-law, and a cherished grandmother. Her strength, kindness and unconditional love were felt by everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will forever carry her memory in their hearts. We find comfort in knowing she is now at peace. Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered. Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, David Adams and Sunshinely; daughter, Donna Decker (Don); grandchildren, Gabe Adams, Zack Adams, Kyle Adams, Jessie Adams, Jolene Adams, and Andrew Campbell; nieces and nephews, Shelby Canter, Lynn Casstevens (Paul), Helen Dalton, Jess Puckett, Mac Coalson (Ethel), Rita Horton, Vickie Tate; several great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Odell “Shorty” Riggans; daughters, Dana Willis and Linda Duncan; sisters, Mary Hawks, Laura Holder, and Susie Coalson; and brothers, George Puckett, Howard Puckett, Robert Puckett, Arless Puckett, Tom Puckett, and Wade Puckett. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service. The funeral will take place, following the visitation, at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Trent Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at The Woltz Hospice Home for their love and care for their loved one.
