Lucy Ann Smith Simpson

Mrs. Lucy Ann Smith Simpson, 91, of Charlottesville, VA, widow of John Clinton Simpson, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Mrs. Simpson was born February 21, 1916, in Fayette County, WV, to the late Herbert and Mary Frances Smith. She was a loving wife, a homemaker, and a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. She is survived by two sons, John Clinton Simpson, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL, and George Winston Simpson and wife, Sue, of Charlottesville, VA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Simpson of Fort Myers, FL, Michelle Collins of White Plains, and Rick Benton of Annapolis, MD; a brother, Jack Smith of Stanton, VA; many, wonderful nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Bob Smith and wife, Jan, of Waynesboro, VA. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 8, 2007, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Friends Meeting. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Johnson, and burial will follow in the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
