Lynda Lyles Ashburn Doby

Mrs. Lynda Lyles Ashburn Doby, 66, of Mount Airy, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 12, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Doby was born July 16, 1950, in Surry County, the daughter of the late R. Glenn and Julia Martin Ashburn. Lynda was a retired insurance agent with AFLAC and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, Wade Jackson Doby of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Libby and Raymond Jessup of Mount Airy; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, John Springthorpe, Jr. and Wayne and Sue Doby, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doby was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Ashburn Doby and Roberta Glenn Ashburn Springthorpe; and a half-brother, Wayne Ashburn. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Sam Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
